Cole Sonne farms along-side his dad, Brian, in South Eastern South Dakota. Together they raise a Pure bred Black Angus herd and provide bulls for other beef producers. To feed their cattle throughout the winter, Sonne Farms spends the summer months putting up grass and alfalfa hay. Livestock and hay aren’t the only things that keep the Sonne’s busy. A lot of time is spent preparing fields in the spring and harvesting corn and soybeans in the fall. To get jobs done on time and efficiently, Cole’s uncle Jeff takes care of important jobs like cutting hay, feeding cattle, and driving truck. For the Sonne’s, farming is much more than an occupation.
